β Conditionals for Kids
A conditional lets the computer make choices.
If This, Then That
"If it's raining, take an umbrella." That's a conditional. The computer checks the condition (is it raining?) and decides what to do.
Else
"If it's raining, take an umbrella; otherwise, leave it home." The "otherwise" part is called else.
Many Choices
"If it's raining, take an umbrella; if it's sunny, take sunglasses; otherwise, take nothing." This is if / else if / else.

Now you try! Write a conditional in English: "If today is my birthday, then..."

Parent/teacher tip: Decision trees are a great visual aid. Have kids draw the branches.
